Finding that Something

Think you stumbled upon this site by mere chance? What if you were meant to see this? “Unlikely,” you might be thinking to yourself. Well, maybe. But before you leave, if you have ever sensed a void in your life or a longing in your soul, you were meant to find this. It has changed my life forever.

“It” is the Gospel or good news. Actually, it’s not a thing; it’s a person. Do you know him? I’m so thankful that someone shared with me and told me about the good news of Jesus Christ!

Maybe you’ve heard of him before. Maybe not. Regardless of what others may have said about him, one day I took the time to listen to what he says about himself:

“I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” –John 14:6

“I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.” –John 10:10

“I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.” –John 8:12

Wow! Who else can say things like that? You may be wondering, “So how does someone follow Jesus and become a Christian?” Well, God’s plan of salvation for you and me is simply this:

You and I desparately need Jesus.

“As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:”

“[F]or all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God,”

“Therefore, just as through one man sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men, because all sinned” –Romans 3:10 & 23; 5:12

God loves you with an everlasting love! Yes, you.

“For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” –John 3:16

Jesus is your hope.

“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”

“But God demonstrates his own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”

“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

“[T]hat if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, YOU WILL BE SAVED.” –Romans 6:23; 5:8; I John 1:9; Romans 10:9 (emphasis mine)

100% salvation guarantee if you accept Jesus.

“For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

“These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life…” –Romans 8:38-39; I John 5:13 (emphasis mine)

God’s Holy Spirit showed me that I was indeed walking in darkness. I prayed to God and asked Him to forgive me of my sin, and I asked Jesus to be Lord of my heart and life. I accepted God’s gift of salvation through faith in Jesus Christ and His finished work on the cross in my place. On that amazing day, I found the light of life! That is why I follow Jesus Christ daily and how I became a Christian.

Through faith in Christ, I now know the God of the universe in a personal way. Through prayer the Lord provides me with strength and wisdom to face the world’s daily challenges. He also gives me direction for the future in His message to us–the Bible. I’m still learning what it means to follow in his footsteps, but Jesus has changed my life forever. He would like a personal relationship with you also.

Take a moment and consider what you’ve always sensed inside of you. Listen to the words of Jesus. Today, it is my hope and prayer that you will trust Christ to change your life for all eternity.

Would I trust anyone or anything else with my eternal future? Nope. Not a chance.
